https://pedreguer.es/activa-participacio-de-pedreguer-en-la-21ena-setmana-de-les-regions-i-les-ciutats-a-brusselles : en aquesta trobada, l'alcalde ha presentat diferents projectes finançats per la Unió Europea en què participa el municipi, entre ells la iniciativa recentment llançada, OlympicKids, que permetrà a joves de Pedreguer i altres territoris aprendre i sensibilitzar-se en matèria d'igualtat i solidaritat a través de la pràctica esportiva. Aquest projecte finalitzarà amb la participació d'una delegació de Pedreguer en una trobada a París el 2024, en el marc dels propers jocs olímpics. / At this meeting, the mayor presented different projects financed by the European Union in which the municipality participates, among them the recently launched initiative, OlympicKids, which will allow young people from Pedreguer and other territories to learn and raise awareness about equality and solidarity through sports practice. This project will end with the participation of a Pedreguer delegation in a meeting in Paris in 2024, within the framework of the next Olympic Games.
En els darrers anys, organitzacions europees i internacionals han treballat profundament per definir aquesta situació: el paper de l'esport en el desenvolupament de talents com a eina per promoure el canvi social i promoure el seu ús per assolir fins socials. No obstant això, encara s'han de fer moltes millores.
L'objectiu principal del projecte és fer comprendre la importància de l'activitat física que promou la salut a través d'activitats de voluntariat en l'esport, la inclusió social, la igualtat d'oportunitats i l'augment de la participació en l'esport i la igualtat d'accés a l'esport. Amb el projecte 'Kids Running Towards The Olympics', volem donar a conèixer els Jocs Olímpics als nens en risc d'exclusió social amb socis de 7 països (Turquia, Grècia, Itàlia, Eslovènia, Moldàvia, Bòsnia i Hercegovina i Espanya), integrar-los en vida social i permetre'ls ser actius físicament en l'atletisme. Volem implementar el projecte OlympicKids com una oportunitat educativa important, especialment per als infants, per tal de crear una societat de la UE integrada amb els valors olímpics, amb els principis d'igualtat, sostenibilitat, humanitat, universalitat, solidaritat, esport, educació i joc net. Dirigit a nens de 7 a 14 anys amb l'objectiu d'adoptar un esport de futur i un estil de vida actiu i unir-los amb els valors olímpics des d'edat primerenca, OlympicKids serà el primer toc per transformar i adoptar l'esport en un estil de vida.

With the ‘Kids Running Towards The Olympics’ project, we want to introduce the Olympics to children at risk of social exclusion with partners from 7 countries (Turkey, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spain), integrate them into social life and enable them to be physically active in athletics. We want to implement the OlympicKids project as an important educational opportunity, especially for children, in order to create an EU society integrated with Olympic values, with the principles of equality, sustainability, humanity, universality, solidarity, sports, education and fair play. Targeting children in the 7-14 age group with the aim of adopting a forward-looking sport and an active lifestyle and bringing them together with Olympic values at an early age, OlympicKids will be the first touch to transform and embrace sports into a lifestyle.
